EgyptAir has announced that it will add three Airbus A350-900 aircraft to its fleet through a sale-and-leaseback agreement with BOC Aviation. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2025.
Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the aircraft will join the carrier under long-term operating and finance leases. CEO Ahmed Adel described the agreement as “a historic first Airbus A350 financing for EgyptAir, marking a new chapter in our airline’s history.”
The airline does not currently operate the A350 family, but it holds firm orders for sixteen A350-900s with Airbus, according to ch-aviation fleet data. The addition of the leased aircraft is expected to strengthen EgyptAir’s widebody capacity and improve operational efficiency.
